An Inspiring True Story

Darius Goes West is a film that follows 15 year old Darius Weems on a cross-country road trip to get his wheelchair customized on the MTV show Pimp My Ride. Darius has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), which is the most common genetic killer of children in the world. By getting on Pimp My Ride Darius will bring mainstream attention to DMD for a generation of kids that have no clue who Jerry Lewis is. The film won 28 international film festival awards in 2007 making it the most cumulatively honored film of the year. The DVD now sells for $20, and all the proceeds benefit research to find a treament or cure for DMD. And for the first time in the history of the disease, human clinical trials have begun.
